Starlix vs SiteGPT: AI agents for your website compared on price and channels

Insights

Your customers don't only ask on your website. They message you on WhatsApp, reply to a story on Instagram, write on Facebook. An agent that only lives in the website widget answers maybe half of them.

Short answer: SiteGPT and Starlix both train an AI agent on your website and documents. SiteGPT has no free plan, needs a card for its trial and starts at $39/month billed yearly, counts messages, and sells WhatsApp as a $39/month add-on. Starlix has a free plan with no card, paid plans from $19.99/month counted in AI conversations, and includes WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger. For a small team that wants to start free and answer customers wherever they write, Starlix is the simpler choice.

We make Starlix. SiteGPT figures come from SiteGPT's pricing page as of October 2026.

Messages vs conversations

SiteGPT counts messages, and how far they go depends on which model answers. Starlix counts conversations, however many messages each one takes. Short chats stretch a message allowance; long ones burn through it. Look at a sample of your real chats to see which you have.

Beyond answering from your website

Answering from your pages is where both start. Starlix adds three things that change what the agent can do:

AI Actions. The agent can call your own systems through webhooks, each marked read, write or irreversible, with optional human approval. That means it can look up an account or an order, not just quote your FAQ.

Shopify data. For stores, it reads live orders and your catalog, which means order status and product suggestions come from real data.

An audit log per conversation. You can see which knowledge sources and tools the agent used, which means you can trace a bad answer back to the page that caused it.

Where SiteGPT may be the better fit

You run several separate chatbots for different sites and need the page limits on its larger plans. Your chats are short and a message allowance suits you. You only need the website widget.

Where Starlix is the better fit

You want to start free without a card. You want one agent on your website, WhatsApp, Instagram and Messenger without paying per channel. You run a store and want order status and product suggestions in chat.
